Sunshine Ford is charging a 3% transaction fee, on both credit cards and debit cards transactions. It is illegal to charge any fees on debit card transactions, since debt cards are equivalent to cash. In addition, on February 2024, Governor Hochul announced a new law to clarify disclosure of credit card surcharges. Fortunately, after bringing it to the attention of the cashier, Ford agreed to wave the 3% fee on my debit card. Credit Card = Subject to Fees Debit Card = No Fees
