From the day one I had to speak to management, I felt embarrassed to call this a professional establishment. They allowed non family members to sign up my father in law to this assisted living facility. Fraud paperwork was involved and didn’t want to investigate as long as they were getting paid. My family was treated very unfairly and never did staff apologize for their mistakes. Only wanted money as first priority. At Sunrise of Decatur, we have outstanding leadership. As a leader myself, I know that not every day is perfect, but we are dedicated to ensuring our residents are happy. Accountability is key, and our leaders hold us to high standards. I love my team and want to give a special shout-out to our Executive Director, Charmaine Hicks, for always pushing us to do better and never giving up on us. Thanks to the Team of Decatur for always working together, both frontline team members and leadership team.
Terrible place to keep your family member this place has the rudest employees and management they act like they own the place and treat people with no manners .I can't believe someone with that attitude is managing this place for elderly people .The executive director are bullies and it's hard for me to understand how sunrise let this person run the place. I would advise to stay away and find another location.
