Was referred to this centre after my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. Our initial visit went well but it’s been going downhill ever since and I’m concerned about her future care with the Odette Cancer Centre. They call one time only and never leave a voicemail stating who called or the reason for the call. Every call I return isn’t followed up even when I leave messages. My mother was treated at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre/Odette for an extremely aggressive form of small-cell carcinoma. One thing I will say clearly: her radiation care under Dr. Alqaderi was fast-moving, responsive, and handled with the urgency her cancer required. Staff is nice but service or culture specifically within the chemo chairs dept needs to be addressed. Don't know why it's so difficult to schedule patients for treatments. Not rocket science. Currently 3+ hours wait where the missed on 2 separate occasions put me in the que. Process is broken at the expense of sick patients. Need to get management from costco to fix this ... but dont want to get in their bad books for obvious reasons ;-p

The oncologists here are never open to other types of treatment. They just want to jump to surgeries which can lead to all sorts of complications or even death. If you research online and mention some alternative treatment they will say no to that or will tell you to go somewhere else or laugh at you. To make things worse they will say that you are being a difficult patient or you are "frustrated" with your diagnosis which will make you even more annoyed.
