I was seen by Jimmy, who I believe is a PA. He was very personable and answered all of our questions very thoroughly. There was a good amount of patients in the waiting room by the time we were leaving, and he did seem like he was in a hurry, but not in a way that subtracted from the attention he provided. I like Dr. Purohit himself thus far. However, the office itself is nasty. I understand it is a urology clinic, but you can clean after each patient and make sure it is decent for the next. The bathrooms for the patients are just disgusting; there is urine all over the floor and toilets. I recently had a procedure done at their surgery center and they never even called to follow up after and see how I am doing since the procedure. On the morning of 10/27/22, I was suffering from urinary retention. I called the office around 10:00am and was told that someone would call me back. I called back at 4:00pm because no one called me and I knew the office closed at 5:00pm. I was assured that someone would call me back after they finished with patients. Still no call. I called them back at 9:00am Friday, 10/28/22. I was told that the doctors were out of the office all day and that I should go to the ER. I have no issue with Dr. Purohit, but staff will not do a pre-authorization for testosterone prescription. This means my insurance WILL NOT reimburse me for cost. I was told by nurse they don't have the "manpower" to input pre-authorizations. Very disappointing, my insurance company said they never heard of anything like that before. First question I asked when making next appointment at another urology clinic, do they do pre-authorization for testosterone?
Very thorough, kind and compassionate. Saw us in a timely manner and the exam and plan of care were carried out in a manner that we could understand. Wait time for a new patient visit wasn’t bad either!
Does not explain condition or treatment just does “something”. Very frustrating experience would not return
Dr. Purohit (son) has done my follow ups after surgery at Tulane and also performed a surgery on me. I've had nothing but the best care from him and his staff and I'd highly recommend him to anybody.
Dr.Purohit and his staff were and are the consummate professional's through 3 stent procedures and really listened about my concerns and actually finally cleared my right kidney of stones and I must that I haven't had any issues with my right kidney since and I thank the good Dr and his awesome staff enough for helping me ASAP in my time of need! Thank y'all again for making me feel like a priority and important patient!!
