I rented from them for a few months in Marin, worst renting experience in my life. They never fixed anything, not our heaters, or my neighbors kitchen sink, or my other neighbors shower. In the end we had to get the health department involved and we all moved out.
Unpleasant. Unkind. Avoid if possible.
Sunhill is absolutely the worst, they neglect their buildings, won't repair anything without it being a big headache, and after being there 7 years I never knew who to get ahold of, and now they're trying to charge me 8k worth of damages that clearly falls under basic wear and tear. THEY ARE THE DEFINITION OF SLUMLORD.
Stay away from Sunhill. They are slumlords. We rent business property in San Francisco "managed" by them. I say "managed" because it is consistently impossible to reach anyone about any issue with the building, even plumbing and fire safety emergencies. Yet they happily attempt to charge us for maintenance work they did not, in fact, do. There is no world in which you are so desperate for housing as to resort to Sunhill.
