This was easily the worst haircut I’ve had in the Bay Area. The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication throughout the appointment. The stylist removed far too much hair from the top without checking in or confirming the direction before making irreversible changes. The final result looked nothing like what I asked for. A professional stylist should be able to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and listen to the client before making major decisions. Extremely disappointing experience.
I just got my hair done here and I’m absolutely in love! The stylist really listened to what I wanted and nailed it. The vibe in the salon is also super chill—definitely my new go-to spot!
I make the drive from Oakland to San Mateo specifically for Aaron’s work (and his twin, JC, is just as talented). They do incredible color at a fraction of the price you’d find at salons closer to home. I discovered them on Yelp during COVID after a DIY highlight disaster left me desperate. I took a risk driving that far for a last-minute Sunday appointment, but they really stepped up and put in the effort. Good hair cut and nice hair wash. Lots of attention to detail and very accommodating. Great coffee next door too.
Guy was really nice but my hair is chopped afterwards. 3 stars just because of how nice he was and the hospitality. Hopefully it is better next time
