I was at sundown from May14-June21. It helped my dad and I’s relationship but made my mom and I’d relationship worse she never once supported me through my addiction but I did love sundown although I think community is stupid calling us out and accusing us of stuff we never did just to embarrass us infront of our peers. I stayed here when I was 18. I was the oldest at the time I’m sure things have much changed by now! I’m 32 and married 7 years of sobriety I was very unwilling but it was NOT due to this place it was due to my disease. I have to be thankful for EVERYTHING they tried to do because today I could be dead. Thank you for trying to help me but know what you’re doing is life saving! Btw I remember only a couple of people tried running like Forrest Gump in flip flops wasn’t the brightest idea but hey they came right back!
I was sent to good old SRI in April 2004, after a slew of legal troubles. I’d been there done that with the whole rehab thing, and didn’t think SRI was going to be any different. Boy was I wrong. SRI saved my life and when they sent me to Oklahoma for half way after I completed treatment (with a 4.0) my life changed immensely. I owe my life today to SRI. Sundown was a life saver! I’ve learned so much there and I love the staff even though I was hardheaded from time to time. I was on Team 2 and I loved my counselors! If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know how things would be right now. The food is great as well! I would definetly recommend Sundown to someone who is truly ready to change otherwise he/she will choose to not fwu anything out of it and can potentially get worse.
I myself went there and stayed for 3 months. I couldnt stand it there in the beginging but I had the best hardest council there who helped me realize and understand and better myself for my self.would love to speak with him again.id recomend this place for any troubled teen...best thing my mother ever did for me as a mom.love it
