Sun Cloud Health egregiously violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the ethical guidelines for a mental health institution by forcing me to discharge from their Chicago location's PHP program due to deeming my service animal a "safety concern" (their words). There were two incidents on separate treatment days in which my service animal did bark - once because another patient slammed a door and a second time on a separate occasion due to the same patient stepping on him. I’m so grateful for my time in the PHP/IOP program. The program and dedicated staff truly saved my life. I can say I made some positive and permanent change in my life after being there for about 6 months. It’s been 1.5 years since I was discharged and I’m so grateful for the help I got. There really isn’t a price to getting better after trauma and severe mental illness. Paige, Dr Annan, and the rest of the staff were so wonderful.
