I had an awful experience during my time at SUN. I was in their inpatient program for about a week, and I was only seen by the doctor twice. Additionally, the nurses were unprofessional and incompetent. One of the nurses offered me candy if I cleaned up the other patients' messes, and I didn't know what to do since I wasn't an adult at the time. I felt exceedingly unsafe and uncared for during my time at SUN, and I wish I could give a zero-star rating.

This is a very short-term facility. They only keep kids for 3-5 days. So, if your child is suicidal, they are cured in less than 5 days. Wow that is amazing. They must be really good at their jobs!! NOT!!!

Parents, I'm pleading with you to read this. My 15 year old daughter attemped to die by suicide and was at a children's hospital for 2 days. After she was "medically" cleared, she could no longer stay at the hopsital (the psych unit was not available). We were referred to Sun Behavioral in Earlanger. We had never heard of Sun. We were in a crisis and relied on the hosital staff's recommendation. We needed a place for to be safe for a few days.
