I wanted to share my story of my experience at sun as an inpatient in the "teen" area if you will. I went there right after my freshman year of highschool started, I felt isolated at boarding school and had a really bad suicidal spike. My therapist had sent me to sun for a psychological evaluation and I ended up being admitted. I was in an isolated waiting room with my grandfather for about 5 hours before anyone spoke with us. Jeff was the first staff to stand out and the Deon. Housing is top notch compared to Dover Behavioral and allowing us to smoke is great. Beautiful staff and environment.
I just got out Thursday, and this place didn't help me at all. There were a few good workers like Angie, Barbara, and Shade. I went there to get help with my suicidal thoughts and other mental disorders, the doctor there didn't listen when I kept saying some of my medication wasn't working. I left that place with no new medication to help me. I'm still feeling the same way as I was when I first got there. I don't know what to do!!! The beds were uncomfortable and the showers wasn't hot and the toilets were loud other than that it was great I just hope they change the clock to digital I met a lot of great people I can't say I remember any of the staffs names but the girl counselor was amazing. Just if I ever go back there then I hope there's some change but if not I'd be ok with going there again (EDITED) Dropped the rating I was told leaving the facility i would be given a counselor to help me and i got out in april and right now its the first of Augus... read more
