There has been a lot of positive change in the company the last couple years. Great place to work. Sumitomo values its employees. Good managers and supervisors that listen and try to be flexible with employees.
They make great cutting tools. Learned a lot while working there. However, after being told I would get a 401k after a certain amount of time and then not getting it after more than 1 1/2 years, I had to move on. Loyalty goes both ways Samurais.
Treats their floor personnel as dispensable and has no regard for employees well being. At the beginning of the pandemic, the company was lackadaisical and did not take proper precautions even though they were informed that an employee was exposed to someone who passed away from COVID. There is a high turn around in the office because HR and other staff have been proven to show favoritism to employees who are deemed “good” and mostly white.
