I had a great experience at Sugar Braids. I was a walk in customer and got small medium knotless braids. They look great, and came out neat and light. The owner was very kind and the stylists were pleasant. The price was reasonable and they took me as a walk in. Based off my experience, I would recommend this braid shop! Sugar Braids in Silver Spring is a gem! The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, and the owner’s friendliness instantly puts you at ease. My appointment started right on time, and when there were small issues with the hair, they patiently listened, redid it, and made sure I was happy with every step. I truly felt taken care of from start to finish. The customer service is absolutely fantastic, and I will definitely be returning.
I been getting braids for years but this time I went to Sugar Braids for Senagalese twist. After about a week my hair starting frizzing up really bad. In my opinion, resolving this issue would have entailed a complete refund or redo that involved tucking my natural hair. However, I did not have hours available for take out and re-twist. Came here Aug 30th 2025 and had a very good experience. I have a lot of hair and they handled it very nicely. They washed and blow dried my hair as well. They did test braids and checked the size and color mixing with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Very kind women and non-chaotic work place. I'm quite satisfied with the final product! I for mid back small knotless braids, they provided the hair! It was $450 altogether.
DO NOT GO TO SUGAR BRAIDS! Take your business elsewhere! I brought my daughter to Sugar Braids about a week ago to get some Senegalese twists. They did a horrible job, the twists are unraveling already, and the price nearly DOUBLED at the end of our service. There was no mention of any price increase and when we asked why it was different, one of the workers gave a litany of excuses.
