I had a great experience at Sugar Braids. I was a walk in customer and got small medium knotless braids. They look great, and came out neat and light. The owner was very kind and the stylists were pleasant. The price was reasonable and they took me as a walk in. Based off my experience, I would recommend this braid shop! I appreciate that they used hypoallergenic hair. I also appreciate that the owner took time to check the braids and make some revisions before I left. i came for the first time recently and while my hair came out well, i was unsatisfied with their customer care. i wanted the french curls special they had on their website, the price would be $150 instead of the usual $250. i called to confirm the correct pricing & booked the appointment online with no problems. i came with my hair blow dried & ready, they started my hair, but when about 2 hours went by & about 1/3 of my hair was done, the stylist said they couldnt honor the reduced price because my hair was too long, i wou... read more

I made an appointment for my daughter and i this past weekend. While my daughters’ fulani braids turned out wonderfully, I on the other hand had a terrible experience. I made a 4pm appointment and the same day was asked to come 2 hours earlier which i graciously agreed to. Marie was my stylist at the appointment. There are three reasons why I would not recommend sugar braiding: -No transparency in price/ billing: After conducting a consultation via WhatsApp, I followed up asking the total price of my service. I was told $350. Agreeing to the reasonable price, I began saving towards my hair. In the shop, the lady did not remember the pricing of our original agreement. Saying they “care for your hair” is just a gimmick to up-sell their products. I do not recommend this place at all unless you want mechanical hair damage, inconsistent service (I foolishly went several times), and a surprisingly higher price than you expected to pay at the end. Edited to add: notice how in the response, they do not address concerns about the way they handle hair. It’s because they do not care.
