A message for all you Subaru lovers who think your cars will last forever like I did. I always liked Subaru cars. My last three vehicle purchases were Subaru. As a warning to others, they do not last forever. My 2011 Subaru Legacy had a lower control arm failure at a low speed. I was lucky. So, if you have an older Subaru with over 90K miles I suggest you have it carefully inspected. Besides both lower control arms needing replaced my car also needed the sub-frame replaced. In my 45 years of driving and owning several brands of cars, especially Toyota's, I bought my first Subaru. A 2017 BRZ limited. I started having a problem with the transmission, shifting up or down into 4th gear. To my double bad luck, 1. I was a month over the 5 year warranty and 2. It was 50,100 miles just 100 miles over warranty, when I took it to be diagnosed. The problem was is shift synchronizer. We bought our very 1st and very brand new 2023 suburu outback wilderness and it is absolutely amazing! The service we had while buying from Brunswick ohio dealership was outstanding! I had the easiest most thorough car buying experience ever pretty much has sold me on buying my second suburu the same way. There are so many handy things with the outback wilderness and thought put into the design its the 1st vehicle that doesn't kill my back and hips after a 9hr drive . Absolutely love it !
Two bad engines and one bad transmission on my 2013 Outback at 113000mi. I will never buy a Subaru again. We bought it new and took care of it but Subaru is unwilling to take care of us. Owning a Subaru Outback was like owing an American Motors Eagle. You need to be a mechanic to own one!!!! Subaru told me I was purchasing dependable long lasting car.....they lied!!!
