The SOAR Center has honestly been my home away from home. I didn't think I'd find a place and I can't believe it's took me this long to find it, but I'm here and it's wonderful. It offers so many programs and benefits to students, and I can tell that every individual is working hard to improve the Center and ultimately, UCI. However, that's where I see SOAR needing to improve: communication. I believe that to make the Center function at its full potential, it should include more integrative programs from within. SOAR has to be one of the best places on campus. The staff there is so nice and welcoming and I can say I consider them to be my friends. It's awesome how they have bagels and coffee on Tuesdays and PB&J on Thursdays because sometimes I skip out on eating breakfast at home when I'm in a hurry. The place itself is quite versatile (that's the best word I could think of). Sometimes I just hang out, study, or have meetings. The SOAR Center is a home away from home. I did not know that when I wondered into the center 2 years ago. I was looking to get involved and I did more than just that. I found a great group of passionate students and administrators who care about your success and well-being. It's a space to study, eat, sleep, be creative, and ultimately to be yourself. If you haven't visited SOAR yet, stop by and see what all the magic is about.
