The smartest decision I made was switching to another PCP. I was with doctor Motley a considerable amount of time. BUT I started seeing that Dr. Motley was just a conduit for care. I asked him if he would write a script for RLS. He refused. It took me going to another PCP who had the forethought to check some labs that can affect Restless Leg Syndrome. Offers straight, to the point, clinical care who is thorough and kind.
Dr. Motley is nothing more than a conduit for care. Dr. Motley is going to do everything in his power to make your care more challenging with bureaucracy. I expressed to my specialists about the poor quality of care and they recommended a new PCP that just does not pick and choose what they want to treat or prescriptions they want to write.
Posting this on behalf of my wife who recently had a terrible experience with Dr. Motley, who was the doctor on call. My wife has known symptoms and documented medical history at the office that employs Dr. Motley. Yet, Dr. Motley was simply too inconvenienced to call in a prescription. Instead, he suggested calling the office during normal hours or going to see urgent care. (We’re talking about medication that’s been previously prescribed by other doctors at the same practice.) Called after hours for an infection and he didn’t even ask or listen to the issues and symptoms I was having. He immediately said ‘the office opens at 7:30 tomorrow and you can call for an appointment or else go to an urgent care this evening’. He didn’t want to take the 5 minutes to hear about what I was experiencing and help me through it. Terrible experience and not at all professional.
