I’ve been coming to this antique store for over 15 years, but my recent experience left me really disappointed. I’m Latino, though I can be white-passing when my hair is blonde. Over the years, I’ve noticed a clear difference in how I’m treated based on that. When I visit with white friends or when I look more white-passing, the staff are kind and attentive. I’ve lived in Old Torrance my whole life and have never felt this kind of negative energy from any of the other antique stores around here. I stopped by hoping to find some Halloween antiques, but the whole experience was just… unsettling. There was this little girl in the store who kept following me around. This was a fun experience. What a great selection of things to choose from. All the vendors had something to offer. There are plenty of places to eat or grab a beer while you peruse the stands of antiques and collectibles set up all along the strip.
