Based on other reviews I was hesitant to call the office inquiring about an apartment for next year for my daughter who is a student at UNC. I’m glad I didn’t let other reviews dissuade me. I spoke first to Rebecca who was very pleasant and explained all the differences in floor plans and sites (there is one complex off of MLK and one on Bolinwood). I had a very unwelcoming and frustrating experience with the front desk. I was spoken to in a condescending manner and felt talked down to, which was extremely disappointing. As nice as the apartments are, these experiences have honestly taken away from what should have been a positive living experience.
Not welcoming admin office.
Pros: The grounds are beautiful with lots of old growth trees, the greenway is right outside your door, and you can bike to campus or to Eastgate to go shopping. The NU and NS buses stop nearby, and it's about a 25 minute walk to campus (up a steep hill). The pool is huge, the apartments are a good size, with lots of natural light. All the residents I met were really nice, a good mix of students, young adults, and families. Maintenance was generally pretty good.
