Our Mother has Alzheimer's, she started in the Assisted living portion in her own apartment, only to be neglected and fell down. This lead to being moved to *********** unit. Staff is unsatisfactory and UNSAFE, as is managements willingness to actually COMMUNICATE with you. It has been the most frustrating year dealing with a company that just wants your money, doesn't care about residents well being. DO NOT SEND MOM HERE, you will be let down and ignored. WE are leaving this facility and going elsewhere, buyer - beware!

Independent Village of ********* is under staffed to say the least and the turnover is extremely high. What a shame the *************** staff is having to serve meals instead of being able to do what they get paid for and that is taking care of the residents. Massive turnover in staffing. Mail has been seen laying out on counter where anyone can go through it. Guests come in and there is no one to great them at front desk. Food is very poor and they can not keep a cook that knows how to fix meals that the residents want to e... read more

*********************** is under staffed. 2nd Director this year 3rd *** since January of 2023. Nurses working 18Hr shifts. Not enough Nurses during the day or night. 2 Nurses during the day and 1 at night. Massive turnover in staffing. Medication not always given out. Staff is for wall dressing not effective. Residents are left neglected. not able to leave a 0 star review.

Poor care facility. Facility director is completely non-responsive to requests. Staff turnover is extremely high. Recommend people look elsewhere!

The food and service is poor at the Story Point South ****** location! Management does not try to correct after many complaints. It only gets worse as the kitchen continuously runs out of food when residents order we only get a sorry. A sorry does not fill the stomach! The ********** get is often under cooked or burnt and has no taste comes from a can directly to table. This review is for the kitchen service only.

Minus five stars! Related to my review "concerned" on 2-3-19, I sent a second notice to the new State of Michigan Attorney General, Dana Nessel's office. I received a response on June 24, 2019 stating that the AGs office had reached out to Independence Village on two occasions and received NO response. In my opinion, this implies guilt. This company is dirty and clearly employs some very crafty lawyers. Careful folks, this company CSIG/Independence Village has a legal way of stealing your hard earned money. I moved my mother out of the Independence Village facility in Oxford, MI, for safety reasons. She was falling repeatedly and it was clear that she needed a higher level of care (memory care) that the facility does not provide. I was also advised by medical professionals to move her to a memory care facility. I was charged over $11,000.00 for my mother to NOT reside at Independence Village including home care service charges for 30 days after she moved out!
