Unfortunately there is black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The remote didn’t work, and the usb ports didn’t work. Otherwise the vibe was great and the beds are comfy.
Makes you wanna say hmmm.... I have never left a bad review. However, at the end of April, after my stay at Stoney Creek Des Moine-Johnston establishment, something troubling happened. Front desk attendant was nice as was the bartender.. Rooms were clean & satisfying however that would be the end of our enjoyable experience.. The pool house heater was broken & no notification was maid prior to our arrival, with it being in the teens outside it was maybe in the mid 40s around the pool.. The heat in the pool room was broken, the hot tub wasn't very hot and there were no towels available. The kids still seemed to enjoy it though. The bar area was nice but freezing cold so was the breakfast area. The first floor was so cold even the employees had blankets on to stay warm. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Stayed at this location because we have stayed at the St Joseph Mo hotel and really like it. Currently I am here and we have complained about the running above us and were told it’s a birthday party. That was at 12:30 a.m. it is now 5:00 p.m. and kids running around above us has not stopped. So I went and spoke to Travis ( manager) and was told that I needed to understand this is a family friendly hotel. I was offered another room upstairs, but I leave tomorrow morning so why would I pack my things just to unpack again? Not ... read more
