History Established in 2006. Originally part of land titled in 1769 by the King of Spain, the San Ysidro Ranch later served as a way station for Franciscan monks in the late 1700s and then a working citrus ranch in the 1800s, before becoming a guest ranch. This is a favorite of ours in Montecito. Everything is outstanding: the amboance, the staff, the innovative menu, and, of course, the food itself. I love their smoked cocktails.
The grounds and service are exceptional. The food was very good and the table side preperation options are nice. We enjoyed a cocktail at the speak easy prior to dinner and walked the grounds. They enjoyed our dinner at a beautiful outdoor table. It is a dining experience from start to finish. Give yourself time to walk thr gardens with a drink prior to dinner
The experience was definitely one of a kind. I got the steak Diane, and my girlfriend got the black cod, and we shared a peach salad. We also got one Mai Tai and a Paloma, and it was good, definitely strong. The way they made the mushroom sauce for the steak was incredible, truly a remarkable experience and worth the bait on our trip here from San Diego for a wedding.
