Consistent That would be the best word to describe this restaurant. Weather we go as a couple or with our entire family for a special occasion it's always amazing food and fantastic service! Good mid-range prices and totally family oriented. Best place to eat in Asheville as far as we are concerned!
Yummy Soup I have fallen in love with Stone Ridge's tomato-bisque soup...some of the best I've ever tasted. My husband and I had a filet mignon which was prepared exactly as we ordered...and it was simply delicious. I also like their black and blue steak salad.
Nice Atmosphere My family likes Stone Ridge Tavern. If you are a vegeterian the menu selection is small. The service is usually good. The kids love this restaurant. They can watch the fish and turtles swim in the ponds inside the restaurant. Although I think they are getting rid of the turtles.
Stone Ridge? Not so good... A year ago, 3 friends and myself went to the Stone Ridge Tavern after other friends of ours had bragged about them. We were sorely disappointed. When I wrote a letter to the manager regarding our experience, detailing exactly what went wrong: 1) One of us never got our soup; 2) Their Alfredo sauce was more like a soup as opposed to the traditional "creamy" texture; 3) The pasta had no taste - as if the water had never been salted; 4) One of us had ordered a dish with an "add-on" suggested by our s... read more
great food My husband and I recently ate here and it was great. The center cut sirloin was the best steak I ever had. And my husband's stuffed shrimp was excellent.
