All I know, the Stones sold me a good car. My only complaint is that it had no gas when I left the lot. My only recommendation is to have a mechanic check out the car before purchase but that's a good rule when buying a used car from anywhere.

Shannon B. was asked to contribute $75. towards the repair of her car. Most area shops would have charged $250 -$300 for the repair (ABS control module). These aspects were stated before and after the repair. . When facing this reasonable request, she became very distraught, shouting she would get an attorney to settle the matter. After telling us how we should be conducting our business, Shannon threw the money down and stomped out the door yelling that she was going to ruin our reputation. Completely fabricated reviews hav... read more

I could not have said it better than the previous reviewer, Doug and Gary were certified aholes Upon initial contact, very nice and talkative. By the end of my dealings with this duo both had displayed their true colors. The car had a major malfunction 6 days later after purchase. They immediately took responsibility and were overly accommodating, paranoid. When I retrieved the car following repair both brothers were rude, easily-angered yelling loudly at me being completely unprofessional. I was forced to pay money without ... read more

These guys are certified A-holes! I am embarrassed to even say I purchased a car from these crooks! From the start something was not right . Gary Stone was short with his words and acted annoyed that we needed his help. After a few conversations and much debate we decided to buy a Honda Civic from Stone Cars. Worst mistake of my life. The car broke down 4 days later and left me and my children stranded. When I contacted Stone Cars I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Doug Stone, Gary's brother. He told me that t... read more

Gary and Doug Stone are CROOKS!!! – On 1-14-12 my wife and I walked in to look at a 1999 Honda Accord LX 4cyln 5 speed manual transmission with 97,620 miles for $6195 that we found on Craigslist. First of all I'm trained mechanic not the average village idiot walking in to look at a car. I brought with me a hydrualic jack, jack stands, voltmeter and cordless light that I use to inspect every car BEFORE I BUY IT. Gary Stone brought me a key for the car and said it was a 1 owner and had a timing belt done at 74,000 miles. He a... read more

My Recent Experience – I recently bought a BMW 325i from the Stone brothers. They were courteous, knowledgable, and efficient. The transaction was completely satisfactory. The car is excellent-they know how to pick them. Doug referred me to ZMech in Raleigh. Everything you want in a mechanic. I'm now a satisfied customer of Doug and Gary Stone and Zoltan of ZMech.

Highly recommend this very fair and trustworthy dealership – In August of 2007, we bought our second car from the Stone brothers. This time a 1999 BMW 528i with 78K miles. It took some extra time to finish the purchase because there was an odd sound coming from somewhere under the hood. As Doug Stone put it, they prefer that there be NO known prblems at all when a car leaves their lot. It took two mechanics, but they stuck with it and the problem was fixed. I couldn't be happier with the service I have received from Stone Ca... read more

Awful experience. Don't buy your car here. – I purchased a used Volvo on 12-10-2005. Twenty One miles (25 mintues later) after driving off the lot. The engine shut off while I was driving down the road and will require heft repairs. Luckily I had just exited off I-40. Doug Stone told me there was nothing he could do to help. The dealership should have some accountability here and I am still working on that part. I will make sure that not a single one of my contacts in the area EVER buy a car here. Don't waste your time. Go s... read more
