My husband and I brought our son who is special needs in and the staff were very good with him and his care. I feel since they took such calm care not to scare him it made the appointment overall a more positive experience for him :)

I had the worst experience on March 16th at Stokes. My original appointment was February 13th and I was sent a letter stating that my appointment was rescheduled for March 16th at 3pm. I called to see if I could come in earlier because the weather was bad and I was done with my other appointment. I was told that if I came early I still may still not be seen early. If you're expecting prompt customer service, I'm sorry to inform you, you will NOT get it at Stokes Eye Center. My mother has been going there for years and at one time the service was good. My mother would take me there as a child and the optometrists were efficient and got their patients in and out at a reasonable time. Well, things have changed and those dependable optometrists are no longer there. My mother had an appointment today at 9:30am. Why is it 11:30am and she STILL has NOT seen Dr. Lyttle! DO NOT GO HERE! VERY RUDE! Dr. Stokes has been very dismissive & making slick comments since the very first appointment. At her most recent & LAST appointment he told me my child’s eyes were not turning in, he said “her nose is wide so it looks like it is” which is not true!!! He also said because he couldn’t make her do it after he appointment, that it was nothing he could do, even after multiple pictures shown at the appointment. I must say that the front staff is very rude and short!!!! I started going to stokes Eye Center in 2004 and Dr Ross was very nice and attentive. The staff was as well. But going to the new facility the front staff is not friendly and do not make you feel comfortable at all! When I go to a Doctor’s office I expect to see a doctor not a PA/ or an assistant. Why being charged for a specialist when you don’t see a specialist???! I feel very helpless when I don’t feel like I get the proper treatment and support for my eyes. It m... read more
