Took our Subaru to Stohlman for a CEL. Informed service advisor of the issue and referenced a TSB that seemed to correlate to the issue we were having (it involved a simple ECM reflash). Received an estimate back north of $10k, immediately jumping to tearing apart the valvetrain, pointing to engine sludge with no evidence, and completely replacing the ECM. I have only had horrible experiences here. The front desk staff is unhelpful and rude. I made an appointment for my car to be serviced only to show up and have them ask to keep my car overnight because they won’t get to it until tomorrow. I asked what the point of making an appointment was and was told it’s only to drop off the car. I am unsure why you make an appointment for it to be serviced if they do not honor that appointment time. My Forester’s check engine light came on around 9am and the service department got me in with no appointment and fixed the car the same day (on a Saturday). Amazing experience from Jenny and Carlos!
