I had my 2017 F250 towed in as it would not pull itself. I was told the high pressure fuel pump failed sending metal shards through the system. He gave me a jar of fuel with metal in it and told me it was going to be 12k to fix. I didn't feel right about the way it was presented so I took it to another shop recommended by a friend. it was the low pressure pump in the fuel tank and he cut open the fuel filters and found no metal in either of them.
