I've been a steam pipe fitter for over 35 years. Needless to say my job puts an enormous amount of stress on back. I suffered from neck, shoulder and arm pain for years. My MD told me it was just arthitis and that nothing could be done. Finally I had an MRI which showed 2 herniated discs in my neck. My doctor wanted to schedule surgery to remove the disc and fuse my spine together. Feeling I had no other options I scheduled the surgery.
