Trying to reach the office for any pre-surgery communication was difficult and stressful. I found Dr. Smith to be rude and arrogant and will never return! My advice ....stay away..
Had to have very visible Moho removed. There is almost zero trace thanks to his skills. Great bedside manner as well. .
Dr Smith has done 2 MOHS procedures for me - one in Wellesley office and one in West Roxbury. He was great! He explained to me what he was doing and scars are minimal. I didn't talk a lot to Wellesley office staff so can't comment but my regular dermatologist is in West Roxbury and they are great!
I worked with Dr Smith many years ago when he was just starting out and when I worked for another derm we sent many patients to him for surgery. He even did surgery on my 90 yr old grandmother. He is an awesome surgeon. I have seen so many of his patients after surgery and they loved him. Is he arrogant? Yes, he is but I would go to him in a heartbeat for removal of skin cancer
Courteous staff. On time appointment. Doctor and staff kept me informed throughout the procedure. What more can one ask for in a practice.
My Wellesley-based dermatologist recommended I meet with Dr. Smith for a MOHS consultation. I called the office on Monday morning, February 26 to schedule an appointment. I was told by the receptionist that she would talk with Dr. Smith and call me back in a day or so. Over five weeks later, no callback. Not good.
I had my appointment today with Dr Smith. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the scheduling. I must have received 3 phone calls prior. Due to limit space on this site to review, all I can say is DONT GO HERE! Dr is so arrogant. Staff unfriendly, and no communications within office. I actually left his chair it was so bad. Dr told me to find another dr than can perform surgery without a scar. Never in my life has this happened to me, where I actually left without surgery. Trust me on this revi
Business response:
I recall this very unusual encounter quite vividly. After explaining Mohs surgery (as I always do for a new patient), I mentioned that there is always some scarring with any surgical procedure. This patient interrupted me. "I don't want any scarring." She insisted a "surgeon friend" told her this was possible. After again trying unsuccessfully to explain the nature of scarring and reassuring the patient that most of my work causes minimal scarring, I told the patient I was declining her.
Have had two mohs procedures done by Dr. Smith. Last one was a 5 hour; 61 stiches procedure. He and his staff were great. He explained everything as he went along; checked with me often to see how I was, etc. Kept me comfortable, engaged and happy.
