Seems competent if you can handle the personality. Arrogant, has demeanor of a total prick. Almost acts angry at patient for having the problem.
Tmj relief. He knows what he is doing and was very helpful to me. However he is very full of himself and certainly let's you know it. His fees are exorbitant. When I had to stop my seeing him for yearly checkupsdue to the almost $200 fee his office staff told me to pitch my mouth guard. Also they informed me that they were marking my record and of I ever needed his services I would have to start "all over" with treatment at the increased fees. No insurance accepted. Dr. Messing is excellent. He knows what he's doing and he educates his patients. I have had three procedures(extraction, pocket reduction) with him and have been very happy with the results. I like his bedside manner. He's no-nonsense yet reassuring, and I always feel like I am in good hands.
Let me preface this with Dr Messing is a very strong practicitioner. His bedside manner however leaves something to be desired and his prices are outrageous. He and his staff claims insurance will cover a hefty portion of his fees and procedures but the reality is none do. And he charges something like $150 just for a brief consult and upwards of $800 for XRays alone!!!!! I would stay away - there are plenty of physicians/dentists that provide like or similar services for a tiny fraction of his costs.
Dr. Messing took time to meet with me and explain in layman's language the problem and treatment. I had periodontal surgery and I was back at work the following day. He and his staff are friendly yet professional. Dr. Messing is a highly skilled doctor. Because of my insurance deductable, I did pay more than I wanted to for out of pocket costs.
