I have swelling around my brain from genetic malformities of veins. Dr price wanted to do a lumbar puncture to not only remove fluid, but to gauge how high the pressure was. This is more of an older technique and no longer really necessary for this condition. I'm a high risk pt. I have damage to my nerves in my spine where they wanted to do the puncture, I have severe panic attacks, I'm on warfarin (blood thinner) and I'm well aware the fluid can be drained with a pill called diamox.
