I had serious ankle injury with multiple fractures overseas and had my initial surgery there. I traveled home to NY with an external fixation. Dr. Behrens is a terrific surgeon, and his NP Meghan is fantastic. I had achilles tendon surgery and the procedure was performed expertly. The pre and post was extremely well handled. The recovery was no big deal, and I am back to running, which I missed so much. I was away from running for almost a year and a half, and my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. For other runners with this condition: Do your PT, but if it doesn't improve do not hesitate.

Dr. Behrens is a top not surgeon who was willing to think "out of the box" with regard to my Achilles issue. Megan and the entire staff were professional and courteous. I highly recommend Dr. Behrens! Tony D.

With calm expertise, he explained not just why surgery was necessary, but how it would be performed, what to expect during recovery, and when I could reasonably hope to return to normal. The surgery went flawlessly, and—true to his word—every... read more
