Very unorganized and their training of BHTs leaves a lot to be desired. I felt more like I was hosting the BHT in my home than I felt like there was someone there to help my child; serving him meals, getting him glasses of water, picking up his empty energy drink cans. I am extremely disappointed in Step One. I’ve been in communication with them all Summer, had my doctor do the paperwork, I filled out the paperwork and provide insurance info etc to only be told a week before my child’s school is starting that their therapist couldn’t take on more children who’s in network with my insurance. I lost the entire summer and possibility to get my child the dedicated services he needed and now with a week away I’m left empty handed and scrambling to find services for my son. Rachael have had such a great impact with helping my child in such a short period of time. I’d highly recommend stepone to anyone considering their services. They take their time getting to know their clients, the family’s needs, expectations and then developing a plan to facilitate safety and independence for the client. I had a lot of reservations about the therapy to be honest but the culture they’re promoting, they’re doing things differently from other facilities and it shows.
