We do not recommend this surgeon because of his unprofessional "jokes" and manner with patients and family, and his failure to return post-op hospital on-call messages in a timely manner from the night RN. It took three hours to get the issue resolved. We like and use other doctors at ARC and have never encountered a problem with any other physician there. The problem is with Dr. Hanschen not the ARC clinics or other doctors or staff.

He was alright as doctors go. It looked like he had been saying the same spiel of colonoscopy procedures and explanations for years, he was very very rehearsed. I felt due to his expertise, I was in excellent care. I wanted to know WHY we needed this procedure, yet to screen for cancer is a good reason. I called the office the day before to ask specifics about what to expect. The nurse was clueless & told me "I don't know". I felt she was dumb, rude & left me with doubt.
