Dr. Ponas is a kind, caring urologist, who performed a radical prostatectomy in 2013 after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His followup with me were timely and thorough and now I am cancer free.
I was referred to Dr. Ponas’s office but only saw his PA, who recommended surgery based on two ultrasounds. Upon arriving at the hospital, I learned that Dr. Ponas and his PA had not discussed my case beforehand. Dr. Ponas mentioned he did not have the CT scan—which is generally considered the gold standard for diagnosing kidney stones—but proceeded with surgery anyway. So far i'm happy with Dr. Ponas with my treatment
He cannot be reached resulting in serious scheduling and coordinantion failures with hospitals, testing laboratories and cancellations. His office fails to return calls, leaves one on hold for tens of minutes then hangs up without answering - repeatedly. It is unprofessional and unsafe. I am looking for another and hopefully more responsive doctor to deal with my cancer.
I am in treatment with bladder cancer with Dr Ponas providing surgery and care. I feel very fortunate that Dr Ponas is providing medical care, and would recommend his care to any of my family or friends.
Dr. Ponas is one of the most conscientious and Honorable physicians I have ever known… As a pharmaceutical rep I have had an opportunity to go to many offices and I had a choice of who I would pick as my urologist and he is the best 1 out there.
My father likes Dr. Ponas as a doctor. He had his third kidney stone procedure scheduled with him. It was scheduled for a 9am arrival and 11am surgery. He confirmed this with the surgery scheduler, Delores, 2 days after making the apt with her. 20 DAYS BEFORE SURGERY he received an email from Delores that said 9am/11am. 3 days before surgery the hospital called and said it was a 7am / 9am. I am very happy with the care and treatment that Dr. Ponas has provided to me. I had had a greatly enlarged prostate treated six years earlier by another urologist, but it had to be redone. After Dr. Ponas' performed the procedure, the sudden frequent urges to urinate all quickly went away. Needless to say, I am totally satisfied with his care, and I would highly recommend him to anyone with similar problems. In addition, his office staff is efficient and helpful.
I had a kidney stone and Dr. Ponas removed it. The procedure went well, I had no complications, and Dr. Ponas's office reacted quickly when I had a follow-up request. I would recommend him and Affiliated Urologists.
