My wife was recently admitted illegally from Centennial hospital without her or any of her families consent. She was never even seen by a doctor at centennial before being admitted. The nurse can't tell me what drug she gave her after she said that she felt very strange like someone put something in her drink at a bar. She said she feels unsafe and can't trust the nurses there. We sought treatment at Hickory Trails for our 12yo daughter. Depression and talks of suicide. She voluntarily stayed. She didn't receive her clothing or personal items for 36h. She had to sleep in her school clothes. Her physician never contacted us. She was attacked and injured by another child. This Treatment Center is one of the most disgusting facilities in Las Vegas. The so-called Psychologists NEED TO FIND NEW JOBS! These "professionals" are the worst there is; You are not treated like a person-Before they even talk to you, they judge you, sentence you and treat you only as a number! Just don't go there for any reason. I went in for alcohol detox and received zero care to that end. They overdosed me on my BP meds, despite my protests, and I believe it was because I had stated my desire to go home (I was a voluntary check-in). Now my vitals weren't stable, so they had to keep me there for another day. They never bothered checking my insurance when I came in, saying it was a weekend (I came in at 3:00 on a Friday, and wasn't brought back for intake until after 6pm), then a holiday on Monday. This hospital is horrible they do not want to help real mentally ill individuals. They will set up an appointment for admission and then not open the doors to let you in. When you finally go inside they keep you waiting forever before they call you inside to a room. In the room they interview you again. They are terrified of mentally ill individuals. They will claim that the individual does not meet the criteria. Even though more than enough documentation has been provided from psychiatrist, therapist, school, and parents.
Pill pusher, everyone is prescribed trazodone even if you do not have sleep issues! They will over sedate your love one, and not bat an eyelash when they go from walking into a wheelchchair. Slurred speech forget about it, problem swallowing, it is all mind games. NO way could it be side effects from the heavy doses of antipsychotics you prescribed after spending 5 seconds with her!! You want to plan a funeral? Be a patient at this so called "psych hospital ".
DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!! They are holding my daughter hostage, we have been trying to get our daughter transfered to a long term facility for 4 days and they refuse to do the paperwork required for insurance. All we get is the run around, Dr Allawala has only seen her once in 6 days and everything is handled through the nurse practitioner who is a employee of Hickory Trail. Disappointing that I was unable to receive one on one therapy. They had group therapy at least 6 times a day, but this was not what I needed in my case. It does appear that money is the main concern. I went on my own there ( voluntary) , but didn't matter about being released. Must have a court order from Judge if you want out without the psychiatrist order. Very disorganized place-food not good- no tv while I was there-( 8 days) no cell phone allowed. I was not allowed to keep my own prescribed medications because they said... read more
This place was recommended to me by an assistant principal from Orange county. My daughter was a patient for about 6 weeks at La Amistad. Using intense therapy and some medication my kid was able to return home and to a normal school setting. Big, big thank you to Michelle, the school director, Sanya the therapist and the rest of the staff. You guys are the best.
