I would Not ever recommend Dr. Stephen Merena to anyone needing a podiatrist.He showed a complete lack of understanding and compassion today at my first-time patient appointment . Despite the fact that l previously answered his on-line questionnaire, he deliberately refused to see me for the rightful 15 minutes left of my app’t. as l was unavoidably delayed by a fellow professional ( UVM) app’t ., who, having double- booked an earlier app’t. Dr. Merena is an excellent health provider and I would absolutely recommend him to others. He and his staff are very friendly, welcoming and detail-oriented. He has a great bedside manner and genuinely cares for his patients. This was my third toe surgery with Dr. Merena and on each occasion he made sure I was comfortable, experiencing no pain and that I understood the steps of the procedure. I would absolutely return to his office with any future foot related issues.
I waited 3 months to see Dr. Merena, and it was a waste of time. He didn't know of any way to help my problem, other than I could try other doctors. Then he refused to help me find a doctor that had experience with my issue. He just didn't seem to care and made me feel like I was not worthy of his time.

Doctor Merena and his staff are first rate-top notch. This is my third surgery with dr.Merena.
It took months to get an appointment. He ordered many expensive tests and did nothing for me except tell me to get orthotics. I already had orthotics and they were not working well enough anymore.
