Recently I underwent two cataract surgeries at Massachusetts Eye Research & Surgery Institution in Waltham. I want to compliment the Institution and especially Dr. Stephen Anesi who did two remarkable procedures with my eyes. The staff was amazing. I went to Doctor Anesi after seeing 3 other doctors with no success in fixing my eye issues. Dr. Anesi worked tirelessly to find the right combination of medications to save my eye and keep my joints healthy. He was also willing to work with my rheumatologist which gave me the opportunity and peace of mind to have both of my physicians provide me the very best care. Dr Anesi gave me hope when there was none. Dr Anesi saved my eye sight and has allowed me to regain some of my life back. I will never have 20/20 vision but being able to see my children’s and husbands faces, my beautiful home, my bird, and most all of the sun. After many surgeries that others would dare not do, Dr Anesi went where others wouldn’t, which proved to me an amazing miracle. I had 2 corneal transplants to two very diseased eyes.
The MERCI team hasn't missed a beat since their founder, Dr. Foster, retired. As a longtime out of state patient, I appreciate the focus, expertise, attention and professionalism of the entire team. Dr. Anesi is phenomenal and more importantly the team he has supporting him are outstanding. A very special thanks to the Infusion team, as they are tireless in their efforts to support patients needed biologic therapy and advocate and fight with insurance companies that don't want to cover proven biologic therapy.
