Dr Hanauer has been our GI Dr for YEARS. He trained with Joseph Kirsner and is the BEST at what he does. I wouldn't go anywhere else for GI disease treatment. We have complete confidence in him and his advice.
Great doctor and staff.
I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 19. When I would have a flare it was always controlled and treatable. In 2010 I became ill and had a flare that could not be controlled by my regular GI doctor. He immediately said I need a higher level of care and I was transported to the hospital under the care of Dr. Hanauer. Dr. Hanauer is amazing. I was sick for 15 years before I came to see him. I am now in remission for over two years. He is one of the best gastro doctors in the country. His staff is also amazing they take care of whatever you need promptly.
Dr Hanauer is an incredible doctor! He’s experience, communication , and bedside manner are THE best I’ve ever seen. We have been lucky enough to be under his care and it has changed (saved) our life for the better. We drove 4 hours each way to be under his care and it’s worth every minute. I've been a patient of Dr. Hanauer since 2008 when in one visit he fixed a problem with my J pouch that had baffled my Wisconsin doctors of over a year. Outstanding communicator. Very patient focused. Does only what's needed and necessary and explains what's happening and why. For doctors like him, there should be more than five stars.
Such a caring, confident and knowledgeable Dr! Innovator and at the forefront of the latest, most up to date research! Been his patient since 1999. Followed him from his U of C days!!! Extremely available! I text the dr or nurse directly via MyChart and the responses come unbelievably quickly! Appts are attainable as needed!!! This team of greatness are SO ontop of their game!!!
He conducted my colonoscopy and allowed me to be primarily conscious during the procedure. During the follow-up, he answered all ten of my questions and was extremely patient with me.
