Merriam Webster Dictionary defines dig when digging a hole as "to hollow out or form by removing earth". We tried to get fence post holes dug out in our yard, only to be told once the breaking up of the soil was done by the auger that soil removal was not a part of digging the holes to 3 feet deep despite specifying that in the work description. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided. The work requested was to involve digging 3-foot holes with a post-hole digger for fence posts. However, the service team used a tractor with an auger attachment and left the excavated dirt in the holes, contrary to our expectations. Additionally, despite our precise markings for the location of the holes, the team did not adhere to these specifications.
