This doctor is truly an affront to healthy and successful gender care. During our first consultation, she refused to hear where I was w/regards to gender and transition ("That's not what I do"). She became hostile when I asked for baseline tests to see where my hormones were before starting any new hormones and went so far as to accuse me of seeking out help with a deficiency, which I was not. They don't work with their clients in any way and refuse to account for continual care due to personal belief, instead giving out blanket treatment based on strict adherence to a model that doesn't work and referring to outdated standards of care. Miserable experience.
I am BEYOND grateful for Dr. Detlefsen. I felt seen and heard by the gender pathways team and received news I never thought possible. The gender pathways clinic at kaiser has given me hope!
