Stelina should stand for stellar restaurant. I love the seafood dishes they have here. It always tastes so fresh to me. Staff is overly accomodating .
Unbelievable Italian Food - In the 'burbs no less! – Went last weekend and - despite the deafening roar (read: pretty loud) we had some of the best appetizers and main courses we've had since we went to Tuscany a few years ago. The hostess was charming and the waitress helped recommend a wine to go with our main course. Overall an unbelievable value - we would have paid a lot more downtown for what we got in the suburbs, and it wouldn't have been nearly as good. Oh - and the desserts! Who makes them? Addictive! Tasty food and great atmosphere – I have been to Stellina many times and have never been disappointed. From their tomato and goat cheese salad to the BEST shrimp scampi, I have ever had, Stellina is one of my favorite places to eat. Located in Watertown sq, the atmospher is great and so is the service. Great place for a date, a family celebration or just a place you want to grab a bite to eat. I highly recommend Stellina
molten chocolate cake - yum! – Stellina has become the go-to restaurant for my family - birthdays, mother's day, college graduation. We even utilized their new (at the time) back room for my wedding rehearsal dinner. We love Stellina for their consistently attentive service and their delicious, authentic Italian food (my grandparents grew up in Northern Italy and give Stellina their stamp of approval). FORGET IT – It's all "wanna-be" Italian food!!! Service is terrible. Bread is NOT Italian. Food quality is spotyty at best. Why do people rate it high? Maybe ignorance? I know Italian food..good Italian food...and Stellina does NOT produce "good" Itlain food!
A solid alternative to the North End – The North End has great restaurants and food, but it can be a tourist trap and a headache to get to for a nice evening. I took my parents and two guests from California to Stellina after failing to get reasonable reservations at several places in Boston. The decor was nice, despite it's location in Watertown Square. THE BEST THERE CAN BE! – When we're in Watertown we HAVE to go to Stellina. The food is unbelievable and the service is the best. Try the warm tomato salad - to die for! Great menu and terrific wine!
Not the star we heard – Onion soup was excellent, Ceasar Salad bland and flavorless. Our main entree, a pasta dish was also not very tasty. Unseasoned. Celery in pasta?!? Dessert was terrific. Only place I've seen so far that charges a fee if a couple splits an entree. Slightly overpriced for what it was. Good size portions though. And Service was very good. Worth a try - maybe it was just our meal that night that wasn't very good.
