GO TO A REAL STEAK HOUSE PLEASE!!!! This place used to have good food. Their steaks are now inedible. Everything on the menu is such garbage, I wouldn't feed it to a stray rat. All the food (especially beef) is over-salted under the pretense that it's "tenderizer." Waitress is polite and helpful as can be. But if you complain about salt, the owner in front lets you pick something else off menu which is still salty... just maybe not drowning in a mountain of salt. I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. I NOW LIVE IN SYLMAR AND STILL MAKE THE DRIVE. THE STOCKYARD STEAK IS THE BEST. THEIR SANGRIA IS HOMEMADE AND TASTES WONDERFUL. THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL! FOOD IS MUCH BETTER THAN OUTBACK OR BLACK ANGUS. THANKS FOR BEING A WONDERFUL PLACE TO GET QUALITY FOOD AT REASONABLE PRICES WITH PEOPLE WHO GENUINELY LIKE THEIR JOBS.

This is a comfortable steak place where the steak comes served on a sizzling metal plate. Weekdays will bring a good tasting daily special. Fried chicken, pork chops, fried fish, etc. Come hungry or you'll be taking leftovers home. But, is that really a bad thing? I totally recommend this great local place.
Pretty Good! It doesn't look like much from the outside or inside for that matter, but the food is pretty good and the prices are affordable. It wouldn't be my first choice for dinner, but if you're hungry it will satisfy you. You do get a lot of food for your buck! Waiters always friendly.
Good Steaks for Cheap. Value for the low budget diner. – This place will not likely shock anyone with amazing food that will never be forgotten. However, what you won't soon forget is that you didn't spend tons of money at a place and not get what you wanted. Steer + Ale has pretty decent food for VERY reasonable prices, and thats why this place is pretty crowded every time I go there. Low Quality Meat – My girlfriend and I decided to try something new, so after reading the "recommended" reviews we decided to give this place a try. We both ordered Burgers, and as we took the first bite, they tasted like fish! Sent them back, and the waitress went on to explain how the cook uses the same grill as the fish. Meat was not of quality. The fountain drinks along with the water tasted like chlorine.
Mmmm...Steak! – This is the best steak for your dollar. The food is served fresh and hot. Bring an empty stomache because you will want to eat every bite. Yeee haw!
Y'all come back now ya hear. – This is a great steakhouse with a great old west atmosphere. The food is great and served hot off the grill. If you're looking for some good food with a relaxing atmosphere go no further.
