Just my style. – I have had numerous tattoos done by Heather and numerous piercings by Devo. Both are great. Heather's drawing style is awesome, it's just my perfect aesthetic. I'm an art school grad myself, so I"m pretty picky with what I want, and in the past I've always drawn up what I want for tattoos myself. My relationship with Heather started that way, but has now evolved into me giving her the "gist" of what I'm looking for and letting her take the lead on what would be awesome. Best Artists around – I've been to Starship for two of my tattoos. Never had a problem with "Rudeness" like the majority of people complaining on here. Here's a little tip for those who think they are "Rude" Don't walk in there with any attitude or being a total douche. Of course people will be "Rude" by your terms. But they are just treating you like you are treating them. Joe is the only artist I really know and Heather a little bit. Every time I have been there I have been given the same respect I have given them.
Best Tattoos around – I have been to Starship Tattoo for all my 18 tattoos. Joe Woiak has done them all, and I couldnt be happier. He is, in my opinion, the best tat artist around. Im 100% happy with all of his work, and so are all the family members and friends I have sent there. I get nothing but compliments on them, especially from the guys that are fully covered. Those guys appreciate really good work, and thats what Joe does. Do yourself a favor, go see Joe at Starship, and tell him Jay sent you. You wont regret it :)
Devo is the best! – Devo is not only great at his job, he is also a great person! He was nice, all around great customer service. He made sure i knew exactly what was going on. Talked me through everything step by step. On top of that he was just great to talk with! Driven, working towards his goals, knew what he was doing, etc. He worked fast and well. tattoo needs to be redone – I received a tattoo from starship at summerfest. They had a mobile station set up. First off, they didn't give me a sheet or explanation describing the aftercare process. I've had a tattoo before, but most places would double-check. More than a month later, the tattoo looks like crap. I constantly have people asking me if it is real. They say it looks like someone drew it on with a marker. The color is very patchy (dark in some areas and light in others) when it should be solid. Very unimpressed. ... read more
Great for piercing, except by Devo. – Me and my friend went there to get our noses pierced. The girl with the purple hair was super nice and answered all of our questions. The piercer was sleeping on the chair, and was rude to us when he finally woke up, so we left and came back the next day and got our piercings done by steve and the girl. i love mine so much. thank you starship.
Great for tattoos, not piercings – I went here for my first tattoo, and it turned out great. The artist wasn't too friendly, but the job was well done. I later went in with my friend for our belly button piercings. Both of ours got infected. I took mine out. My friend called them and they told her its just healing, but it actually like fell out. Now we are both left with nasty scars above our belly buttons.
Problems with piercing for year – I had my 3rd nose piercing at the Starship booth at Suburban Harley event 9/2007. A year later my piercing still hurt if bumped and there seems to be scar tissue. If I take the piercing out it is painful and difficult to put back in. This piercing is only millimeters from another piercing that is fine, done 20 years ago with a gun. the rudest people in greenfield – these people are the perfect example of how you should not answer a phone. instead of just simply saying you have reached the wrong number, i was hung up on three times. thats just wrong no matter if you're the owner of the business, a sales person, or receptionist.
