Funky Atmosphere, Great Downtown Location I'm not a regular customer at this salon, but I have gone on occasion when I simply cannot get in to see my regular stylist at Retreat Spalon. The atmosphere is funky and definitely targeted towards college students. Which makes sense, considering they're just minutes from campus. The stylists do a great job, and give you a wonderful scalp massage as a nice extra perk. However, for a salon that caters to a university demographic, their prices don't match up. Thank you for making me look fabulous! In my 7 years of going to Starr's Sisters I have never had a bad experience. I have been seen by multiple stylists and have never had a problem. They are all very educated on how to make a person look their absolute best. I usually approach Starr's Sisters with an open mind, frequently telling them (usually Allison!) that I don't care what she does as long as its not what I currently have. Love this place!!! Love Starrs Sister!!! My mom has been getting her hair done with Nancy since the 80's....where she would even come to our house and do her hair!!! Once I got to the age to actually get my hair done at a salon that was the only option. My mom now goes to either Gretta or Emily and still does yoga with Nancy. Starrs has been a family affair my entire life, I am always greeted with a smile and a hug. NEVER AGAIN I was very disappointed with my experience. I will never go back and I will tell everyone NOT to go there. I was to get a STYLE for my sister's wedding. I unfortunately was running late due to construction and wrong directions. I called my sister and asked if they would shill have time to do the STYLE if not would find some place else. Great atmosphere, worth the money. I have been going to Starr's for 10 years now. I refuse to go anywhere else. I typically see Emily but every stylist at the salon is experienced, professional, and amazing. The atmosphere and the music is great and they really listen to what you want. I've had my hair every length and color and each time I go to have something done, I always leave with exactly what I wanted. I recommend the place to all of my friends. Arty atmosphere and talented stylists...... have gone to this salon since the early 90's along with my sister, daughter and husband and none of us, along with several friends that go here, have ever had an unpleasant experience. It's owned by a cool couple Nancy and John. Nancy is the head stylist and has been doing hair since 70's as well as teaching yoga (there is a yoga studio upstairs where she teaches) and John is an artist and his work is featured all throughout the salon.
