Used home warranty for a non cooling central air, they refused it with 4 lbs. Worked for a week or 2, that leaked, they had to come back and refill. Obvious leak. Came back a third time said "there's no leak and the ductwork leaking in the garage isn't accessible" shady biz. See picture of leaking ductwork that I can literally touch without a ladder.... All accessible but told to my warranty company it's "not accessible" to make sure my claim wasn't covered.... Integrity is a major issue
This company was selected by my home warranty (AHS). They offered replacing a part of my AC system and fix it, but the terrible part was that they didn't do anything! They said they ordered the part, then they said part was delayed, then said part was incorrect. At the end they didn't show up to the scheduled appointment! That's ridiculous. I don't know how they stay in business. Honestly don't know. I think they are SCAM.
A "surge protector" drama: Our AC stopped working on July 24, 2026, right in the middle of a very hot summer. Through our home warranty, we were referred to Starlight. Their technician, Bryan, came out on July 27, replaced a few parts, and diagnosed the problem as a "condenser fan motor" that needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that another part might be needed but was not covered by the home warranty.
