If you’re looking for a great coffee shop in Dorchester, Starbucks at South Bay is definitely worth a visit. The modern open-concept design, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and welcoming atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax, meet friends, or get some work done. I’m staying in the area so have come to this starbucks a few times now and although the staff are friendly the service is extremely slow. It takes about 10-15minutes to get an iced coffee and a food item. It’s confusing because there appears to be a lot of people working. Give yourself extra time in the morning if you are going somewhere and want to stop here.
There have been many times where I go to this Starbucks because it is the closest one to me, but there has never not been a problem with my food or the service I receive from baristas. There have been many instances where my very simple drink (that is on their menu with no modifications) was made incorrectly by different baristas and after simply asking for it to be remade, it has lead to an argument, a snark remark and a longer wait time. I had a really great experience at the South Bay Starbucks. Earlier that morning, another Starbucks location made my Lavender Chai incorrectly. It tasted almost entirely like milk, and I unfortunately found a hair in the cup after I had already left and was on my way to work. I stopped by the South Bay location to explain what happened, and they immediately took care of me with such kindness and professionalism.
