On 7/25/2026, I was on a long bicycle ride and ran out of water. I decided to get some water at Starbucks. I stood in line, waited for my turn, and politely asked them to fill my bottle with water. The baristas refused to fill my bottle with water unless I bought something. I was in shock to hear that. I tried to explain that I did not need a cup with a straw, I did not need ice, and I did not need water with a lime—I just needed tap water. Fast and friendly staff.
I visit this location often. I am very quiet and introverted. I’m what the kids call cringe because I’m just so awkward. Typically I do a mobile order to avoid all socialization because I’m shy. However on my birthday, for my birthday drink, I decided if the store was empty I’d ask an employee for a drink recommendation to get me out of my comfort zone since it’s a free drink.
