This was my first experience with Indian cuisine, and it was by far, the best meal of my life. Will definitely become a repeat visitor.
Service terrible! One wait person who also bussed dishes and acted as cashier. One person in kitchen. Waited more than an hour for buffet to be refilled.
Ate at Star of India last evening with Jo Yeager, food was excellent, we both agreed to return. Vindaloo chicken was juicy and tender, great flavor, amazing sauces. Menu provides good selection including traditional lamb and goat. We both had chicken dishes, served in authentic style bowls with nicely cooked rice served separately, family style for sharing if you like. Dreadful - Rice had to be at least a day old, it was like trying to crunch through brittle - Chicken curry was so stringy I could have knitted a jumper - The Pepsi was good though, shame you had to throw them away as you never listened to us and put ice in it - TWICE !!!!
The prices are waaaay to high compared to the quality of food.. Being forced to order a full order of something doesn't make sense to me either when I'm only trying to buy lunch for myself.. I ordered Tandoori chicken over the phone and asked how long it would be.. I was told 5 minutes.
