TL;DR: This institution missed two brain bleeds. DO NOT go here. By far the WORST experience I've ever had at a medical institution. In 2023, I went to Stanford for a shunt placement. It was my second surgery, so I was pretty used to the process. Everything was fine until the day of surgery. They wouldn't let anyone come back to the pre-op room with me. Overall, a very bad experience at the end. Doctors are top-notch but they don't have time for you. Then there is billing - they overcharge so much and then try to extract on deductibles like crazy. Charged me $4,000 for a test that elsewhere costs $300. very difficult to reason w/them on stuff like this. would fine another provider.
