Stan came to my house and measured for projects that needed to be done. Eight weeks later, he called to say the job was too big. Really? I wanted two doors replaced, a hand railing to the basement and a new medicine cabinet replaced. Perhaps he should reconstruct his website, as it states numerous jobs that could be done.. I am very disappointed in the slow and negative response and will not recommend him to anyone.

Jean is correct. I don't think it was eight weeks but she is right that I called and passed on the job. Due to a tremendous backlog due to the COVID pandemic I have been having a hard time getting caught up with all of the clients waiting to be helped. I hired Stan to fix a stuck garage door and replace a faulty kitchen door handle. On the initial phone call, he clearly stated that his hourly rate is $90, with a 2 hour minimum. This seemed reasonable to me because of the use of his van, and a helper who assisted him. He gave me the option of him either buying all new parts, or using some parts (door handle and garage springs) that he had left over from previous jobs. I have always heard positive things about his work. But I felt the trade and angered when he doubled his price from what he told me on the phone. He told me that his old rate of 45 an hour with a minimum of two hours would be what he would charge me. For two simple little things and an added third thing, an Hour and a half of work, he had the audacity to say 180!

I have been in business go over 37 years and have never overcharged anyone. With regards to my interaction with Ms **********, she contacted me saying that she had two urgent repairs. I rearranged my schedule so I could help her the very next day. Before starting the work I reminded her that my labor charge was $90/hr for the truck regardless of the number of workers in the truck and that I had a two hour minimum. Stan and Brian did many different work in my house in Amherst which included electrical, plumbing and carpentry all in one visit. Stan was meticulous and thorough. Stan explained problems as he identified them and told me the different options to fix them. I would definitely ask him to do work in my house again, without a doubt!
Stan has been a great find. You need a good mechanic, a good dentist and a reliable, friendly handyman in this life. We called Stan this summer to repair our deck railing. Most folks wouldn't return our calls because it was a "small" job. Stan came when he said he would and charged what he said he would. Stan is very prompt, friendly and extremely competent. He made me feel safer in my home by installing dead bolts, and fixing a pane of glass. His prices are quite reasonable, and he finished the work in just a few hours. I will recommend Stan to all of my friends, and colleagues.

We have called upon Stan and his crew several times and have been extremely pleased with the work that was done. What we value almost more than the actual work is the fact that he calls back when you leave a message, he arrives when he says he will, he and all his workers are pleasant and well spoken, and he is nice to our dogs.
