Takes 20+ calls to get ahold of nurses frequently. Was lied to about what medication was being administered. Told patient was being discharged then cannot get ahold of staff for details. Food is bad. Family is not allowed to bring food even when patient refuses it due to cultural or religious reasons.
Do not recommend. Food is terrible/cold (per my adolescent son), and communication is lacking. Requested call from the doctor and when I missed his calls, which were all at weird times of the day/night I was given no call back number. It took me 4 days to connect with the doctor. The nurse would call some days and tell me he was fine and other days I would get no call. There are no windows so the kids get no sunlight. I don’t see how that can be good for mental health. I would never bring my daughter here willingly again. The staff is rude as all get out - making snide comments about what my daughter shared in group to another patient, and speaking in a very condescending and just plain insulting way about my daughter's issues - sure, kids make mistakes, but telling a kid they'll be a failure is an extremely gross and unhelpful way to do so. She says they were rude to other patients as well, which shouldn't be acceptable whatsoever in an adolescent/children's unit. These are kids in crisis... read more
I was in this horrific place when I was 13-14 still dealing with the trauma . Do not put your child here. Get help as parents to learn to love your kids . Repeat DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN HERE DO NOT
My granddaughter has tally struggled mentally she is their long term for a while till we can get her in somewhere don't like the phacility in wentzville at all but here I really wish she can just stay their she is a very difficult case and what ever their doing is working all of the nurses except for a few are very patient and caring the nurses on 1000 unit are very good with her and they actually care
